Your personalised consultation includes a holistic assessment of your needs, development of a management plan, a prescription if required (pharmacy fees payable separately), and a letter detailing our discussion and the agreed plan.

I do not charge an additional fee for prescriptions issued during a consultation. Private prescriptions do however incur a pharmacy charge for the medication which is payable by you directly to the pharmacy. The cost of any medication prescribed can be discussed during the consultation so that you don't have any nasty surprises. For repeat prescriptions issued outside of a consultation I charge a small fee for my time to ensure safe and appropriate prescribing. You can collect your medication from a local pharmacy or opt to have it delivered directly to your home. Many of the medications that I prescribe are available on the NHS. Whilst I cannot issue NHS prescriptions in this setting, you are of course welcome to discuss any recommendations I make with your NHS GP. Please bear in mind that they are independent prescribers and under no obligation to follow my recommendations, nor to issue a prescription without their own assessment.

Blood tests are not necessarily required and therefore not automatically included in the cost of your consultation. Sometimes blood tests can be helpful, and some medications require monitoring. If this is the case you will be informed and advised as to the costs as part of our discussion. Blood tests are currently arranged locally in Cheltenham.
